Harper Creek Varsity Beavers Surge Past Lakewood Varsity Vikings Thanks To Big Third Inning

Harper Creek Varsity Beavers defeated Lakewood Varsity Vikings 10-0 on Tuesday at TBD thanks in part to seven runs in the third inning. Nathan Jackson doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Braxton Liss singled, scoring two runs, Maddox McCarty singled, scoring one run, and Brayden Bess doubled, scoring two runs.
Harper Creek Varsity Beavers were the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run.
Bess earned the win for Harper Creek Varsity Beavers. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out four and walking three. Hollis Poll started on the mound for Lakewood Varsity Vikings. The hurler surrendered six hits and eight runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking five. Connor Rosenburg tossed one inning of no-run ball for Harper Creek Varsity Beavers in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking one.
McCarty, Bess, and Liss each collected two hits for Harper Creek Varsity Beavers. McCarty, Bess, Jackson, Liss, and James Leamy each drove in one run for Harper Creek Varsity Beavers. Leamy led Harper Creek Varsity Beavers with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Tyler Wieseler stole two bases.
